September 1 - 30th! The time to enjoy succulent mushroom dishes is back again. With new tantalizing dishes to arouse your taste buds, the 16th annual Mushroom Harvest will surely satisfy your mushroom cravings.

This year we have one distinct mushroom menu developed by Executive Corporate Chef Sonny Sung throughout Sorrentino’s: South, West, St.Albert, Downtown, and Little Italy. The menu for Calgary Sorrentino’s by Di Gennaro was developed by Executive Chef & Partner Giuseppe di Gennaro and Chef de Cuisine, Scott Mason. So, come visit us at Sorrentino’s and enjoy delectable “funghi” creations by our talented and dedicated chefs throughout the month of September.

Ingredients:
2 oz. olive oil
1 t fresh garlic minced
1 can (28 oz.) Italian peeled plum tomatoes (San Marzano) crushed
To Taste sea salt and pepper
2 T Parmigiano-Reggiano grated

Procedure:
1. Heat olive oil in a sauce pot and add the garlic.
2. Add the plum tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
3. Bring to a boil, lower heat, stir occasionally and simmer for about 20 minutes
   until sauce thickens and reduces slightly.
4. Remove from heat and stir in the Parmigiano.
5. Use with your favourite pasta immediately or cool and refrigerate (5 days) or freeze
   (in plastic container up to 6 months) until ready to use.
